I have a very strong personal interested in bioethics, especially on research into novel vaccines, stemming from my own experiences as a proud participant in early-stage vaccine clinical trials.
Though I’ve since returned to the investigative industry, I still volunteer my time on the institutional review board (IRB) of George Washington University and as a co-chair of the Community Advisory Committee on HCV Controlled Human Infection Models convened by researchers at York University and the University of Toronto. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of 1Day Sooner, where I previously was Director of Communications. (My views are mine alone and not those of any of these organizations.)
I have spoken at about a dozen international conferences and symposia on intensive infectious disease research, have published multiple academic papers and been featured in popular press on research ethics issues and human challenge studies.
